Cornelia Seigneur’s Oregonian preview of our Fall 2014 show reminded readers of Founder Liz Mehl’s purpose in creating Poetry Press Week: “Poets push to keep language alive. From Thomas Ross’s observations of our debut show at Literary Arts: “To see poetry pulled apart. . .was one of the great benefits of this strange format. . . . Rubbing elbows with publishers, editors, fans, and readers is always fun, but it’s all the more fun to exchange jaw-dropped looks and mouth the words “Holy Shit” to someone you’ve just met. If Mehl and Rigamonti can keep the poets at this caliber and the audience this rapt, they’ve got the makings of a brilliant new kind of poetry event.”

Kristin Leigh in Portland Monthly said of our 2013 debut show: “The audience filed out of Literary Arts . . .into the chilly November night a little shaken and fully inspired. What I witnessed Thursday night kicked the stale, awkward poet–at–the–mike’s ass.”
